2012…it was the best of times…it was the worst of times. OK. Mostly the worst.
My life was turned upside down. I was suddenly single with 3 kids, no job, and no direction.
I was in shock.
I worried every day about how I was going to feed the kids…pay the bills…keep my sanity.
There were many days I couldn’t keep it together. By the grace of God, and the support of my family and friends, I’m still here.
Fighting. Every. Day.
In fact, the added pressure served me well. I have so many projects going on right now, I don’t have the time to feel sorry for myself.
And my training this year was fantastic!
By the numbers…Total miles: 2,051.32 Running: 1,225.49 Walking: 528.80 Cycling: 295.41 Swimming: 1.62 (haha)
I ran over 15 races. I set PR’s in the 5K and the Marathon. I ran my first trail race, and my first and second ultra, placing in both.
I’ve never felt better…physically. I’m in the best shape of my life.
But there’s still a void…something missing. And I’m going to find it.
